Privacy policy

This is a plain-language summary of how GreenSnippets handles data. Draft: the site operator must review this text, and have it reviewed by a qualified professional where required, before launch.

What we collect

• Browsing the library: no account is needed. Our hosting provider processes standard server logs (such as IP address and requested URL) to deliver and secure the site.
• Accounts (when enabled): your email address, a username, and an optional profile (display name, bio, website, avatar) that you choose to make public. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only as hashes.
• Submissions and favorites: snippets you submit and snippets you save.
• Purchases (when enabled): order records (product, price, date). Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider; we never see or store your card number.
• Analytics: analytics is off unless the operator enables a privacy-focused provider. If enabled, this page will name it.

Why we use it

To run the site, secure it against abuse, let you manage your account and downloads, and moderate community content.

Who processes it

Hosting, our database and authentication provider (Supabase), and a payment provider if purchases are enabled. We do not sell personal data.

Your choices

You can edit your profile and delete your account from your account settings once accounts are available. For other requests, use the contact page.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and remember your theme. We do not use advertising cookies unless advertising is enabled and this page is updated to say so.
